Hi there – I’m Jean Franzblau. I provide training that is engaging, inspiring and most importantly – impactful. Want to know more about my background? Ever since teaching dance and improvisational games at summer camp, I knew that I loved helping people grow and learn.
My first big break as a corporate trainer was at Arden Realty – a publicly traded real estate firm. They promoted me from an administrative position to the sole trainer of their new leasing software. I had no background in technology so this was a steep and terrifying learning curve. I made it through. I traveled from region to region teaching this software to employees from entry level to executive. I realized that my calling was helping employees navigate interpersonal interactions.
After almost six years at Arden, I made the leap to launching my own training practice. I landed the opportunity of a lifetime with SkillPath Seminars. Skillpath sent me across the US and abroad teaching full day courses. I taught public seminars in large cities and tailored events for individual companies. I found myself in Australia in front of groups of up to three hundred people and in small towns in Wyoming working with classes of under ten. Looking back, I call it my training boot camp. I was given the chance to teach a diverse set of topics and learned that while I was gifted at teaching customer service, negotiation, communication and stress management, I didn’t enjoy teaching business writing!
Since SkillPath, I’ve worked in industries including law, biotech, entertainment, technology, nonprofit, government, aerospace, healthcare, recruiting, hospitality, education and financial services. Sometimes I work with a client for a day; other times I stay for a long term contract. My training style utilizes adult learning theory and includes discussions and activities throughout. Learners tell me that the day flies by.
In terms of formal education, I received my B.A. with cum laude honors at UCLA in Communications and Business Administration, completed the Train the Trainer course with the Association for Talent Development and served on that organization’s Los Angeles board.
I support safe work environments for all. This includes those in marginalized groups related to gender, sexual expression, and ability, and a commitment to anti-racism.
